Cytology
Cytopathology deals with study of cellular elements obtained by minimal invasive procedures like fine needle aspiration of palpable superficial swellings and other studies include morphological study of cells collected using a cyto brush. The PAP smear test is the best example. These procedures are a quick, efficient and a non-traumatic way for detecting cancers and aiding in differentiating from non-cancers.
Our cytology test samples include:
- Spinal or CSF fluid

- Pericardial fluid
- Ascitic fluid
- PAP smear
FNAC
The most common type of intervention we proceed in cytology is Fine Needle Aspiration. This is a process where a healthcare provider will inject a thin needle into the area where they need the sample to be drawn out. The cells in the sample are then examined under a microscope.
